Chateauneuf-du-Pape - Red wine
A deep crimson red with purple reflects. Black currant and cherry aromas, with hints of coffee and gentle woody nose. At first smooth and elegant, the wine soon reveals its quality tannins. Full-bodied, the mouth is flavoursome and the blackcurrant, coffee and liquorice flavours are persistant.
Argilo-calcareous, 50% urgonian limlestone and 50% pebbles, facing south.
Hand-picked, the grapes undergo a long cold maceration, with regular pumping-over, before fermentation at a temperature between 24° and 28°C (up to 21 days), five racks and return. Fermentation is finished at a slightly higher temperature.
20% of the wine is matured in 500 litres new French oak barrels for eight months.
3000 bottles of 75 cl. Cases of 6 or 12 laying bottles.
